Driver Spotlight - Chris Watson

This week, we’re excited to spotlight one of our outstanding drivers – Chris Watson! Since joining 1st Bus Stop in 2023, Chris has become an integral part of the team, bringing passion and dedication to everything he does.

You joined 1st Bus Stop in April 2023. How are you finding it so far?

“I’m absolutely loving the job! It’s been a brilliant experience so far.”

 Can you tell us about a typical day in your role as a driver?

“My day usually starts with school runs in the morning and evening. In between, I often have a swimming run or a private hire trip, so no two days are ever the same!”

What do you find most rewarding about being a driver?

“Getting the kids to school safely and getting a thank you when they’re dropped off. It’s great to know I’m making a difference in their day.”

Which is your favourite vehicle to drive at work?

“I’d say the Enviro 400 for the school runs – it’s a solid bus. For private hires, I love driving the coaches like the Mercedes Tourismo.”

What do you do in your spare time?

“I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids.”

What’s your favourite way to unwind?

“Taking the kids out for fun activities or family days out, and then ending the day with a nice dinner with my wife.”

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

“Drivers using their phones while on the road – it’s dangerous and so frustrating to see.”

If you had a talk show, who would you invite on?

“Jeremy Clarkson and Keir Starmer.”

What are the top three items on your bucket list?

“1. Taking a cruise around the world.

2. Owning a Mercedes-AMG E63 Brabus.

3. Visiting as many countries as I can.”

If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?

“KFC! I absolutely love it – can’t get enough.”
